What should a tank inquiry include?
A useful inquiry describes the application, required capacity and operating conditions, along with the proposed installation and delivery location. An approved drawing or existing equipment details can help us understand the scope.
| Information | What to share |
|---|---|
| Application | How the tank will be used. For liquid storage, name the stored medium. |
| Capacity | Required volume in litres, US gallons or Imperial gallons. Identify the gallon standard explicitly and note any undecided values. |
| Operating conditions | Required working pressure in psi or bar, temperature with °F or °C, and other specified operating conditions. |
| Installation | Available space, vertical or horizontal preference, mounting dimensions and access constraints. |
| Connections | Required connection sizes, locations and any supplied drawing or equipment interface details. |
| Material & documentation | Any required material, coating, design standard, testing, inspection or certification. These must be confirmed in the agreed scope. |
| Quantity & delivery | Prototype or order quantity, forecast if relevant, destination country and state/province, delivery city or port, and target schedule. Agree packing, freight, responsibilities and lead time in the quotation. |
Buying for the US, Canada or Europe?
Record the installation jurisdiction, required design code, inspection hold points and documents needed for supplier approval. State your preferred delivery terms and receiving location. Read the international sourcing guide before preparing your RFQ.
Replacing an existing tank?
Include its nameplate information, photographs, mounting dimensions and connection details. Let us know which equipment it connects to and which dimensions must remain the same.
Still working out the specification?
Start with the application and the information you already have. Tell us what needs clarification. We can discuss the requirement before a quotation is finalized.
This is an inquiry checklist
It is not a sizing calculation, design approval or operating instruction. The final specification and suitability for the intended application must be confirmed through technical review.
